Mike Hyder is the Songwriter, Guitarist, Vocalist and Bandleader with the British rock group, THE TREAT.

In 2013 he set to work on a solo album, and spent the best part of the year recording and completing work on 4 lengthy pieces, which make up the ‘Craftsman’ album.

The 4 lengthy tracks display elements of classic rock, progressive rock, psychedelia and folk rock. Listening to the album, it’s clear Mike has retained his multi-layering approach to song arrangements, and has made full use of his production skills, using the studio as another ‘instrument’, allowing him to sculpt and build layers of sound, with his arsenal of electric and acoustic guitars, amps, and all manner of effects. This is particularly displayed on ‘The Rock’ a track which encompasses folk, country, blues and rock and is a fine example of Mike’s layering of acoustic and electric guitars, carefully building arpeggios, lead lines and rhythmic textures into one cohesive whole, all topped off with multi layered vocal harmonies, for your listening pleasure.
